I lived a couple houses from John, and we would have awesome bonfires in their backyard almost nightly.  That's where I learned to make those grilled sandwiches with jam over the fire.  I am sad to hear of his passing, and will always have such fond memories of our time on Mary Lane.

John and I sat next to each other whenever the teachers used alphabetical seating. Mrs. Walters studyhall was where John and I got into some serious clowning around (his fault) and I ended up serving my only detention at CLCHS for the 4 years I went. Times were great, John was a real honest to goodness character and a good friend. It really hit me when I heard what happened to him.

The world was a little darker that day.
Rest In Peace my friend.
